Please note that your booking constitutes an agreement to the below:
FAQ’s /Terms and Conditions:
All ticket sales are final, we do not offer refunds or rescheduling.
This is in order to care for our energy in organising and running events as well as due to the fact that otherwise this place could have been offered to someone else.
COVID precautions in relation to ticket sales: all ticket sales are final according to the policy above. However if you are exposed to Covid or in quarantine, you may choose to sell or gift your ticket to someone else in your place.
My commitment is that if we have to change the date of an event due to severe weather warnings or government guidelines, or for any other reason: I will offer an alternative date and or we will issue you with a voucher which can be used on a future Hips and Haws workshop or event. I cannot offer a refund in any case.
Health issues, Allergies, Medical Conditions
If you are a participant of a course, event or workshop held by Hips and Haws Wildcrafts, it is your responsibility to ensure that you have let us know in advance about any health issues (whether physical, mental or emotional in nature) that you may have, including relevant allergies (bee stings, anaphylaxis, food allergies, etc.,) and other medical conditions which could affect your own safety and by extension could place the safety and wellbeing of others present in the group into jeopardy.
If you suffer from known anaphylaxis allergies, please be sure that you have brought your epi-pen and please show me where you keep it in the event of an emergency.
Welcoming and Safe Space
We would like to be as inclusive as possible and work hard to create a welcoming space to a wide diversity of people. We do not and shall not discriminate on the basis of age, race, colour, gender, gender expression, religion, disability, or sexual orientation.
Should you suffer from mobility issues or another disability we can recommend some specific dates or event options where possible. We also offer private events and this may be a more appropriate option for you.
Should financial difficulty prevent you from booking a place with us we are sometimes able to offer work-exchange and a partial payment option. We would not like to exclude anyone from access to wild places or nature connection and wild food knowledge.
Special diets, Food Intolerances, Food Allergies, Coeliac/gluten-free, etc
At the time of booking you will be asked about dietary needs or preferences. This will be taken into account as best as possible on the day. While we will often can cater for vegetarian or vegan if requested in advance we cannot always guarantee gluten-free, we will do our best. When possible we will: but please be sure to confirm this with us in advance of the event- (minimum 14 days before the event). Wild food preparations are often made on an on-going basis throughout the year, when in season. Also of note- it is recommended that as with all new foods- a small amount should be tried the first time to determine personal tolerance. Wild mushrooms are the same and should be tried in small quantity the first time. Some edible mushrooms are known to cause a percentage of people mild gastric symptoms.
Email addresses and staying in touch with us before the event:
It is your responsibility that you have access to the email address you provide at the time of booking. Please be sure to add us to your contact list so that emails do not go unnoticed in a spam folder! We use an automated system to manage all of our bookings and communications to you via Clearbookings where you booked your ticket.
You WILL have received an immediate automated confirmation of booking once payment is successfully processed. Be sure to check your spam folder if you don’t see it immediately in your inbox.
With regards to your personal details we will never share your details with any third party under any circumstances.
Considerations on personal safety and comfort:
For most events, we will be spending time outdoors- there are many possible challenges such as bee-stings, insect bites, sunburn, hot, cold, wet, windy or inclement weather conditions, uneven ground, a campfire, sticks and branches, brambles and tripping hazards. We recommend that you prepare for such conditions and take all safety precautions as you see fit.
Access to public toilets is often not an option in all locations. For some events we will meet in private woodlands. A wild wee may be necessary! For these events I will try to give you advance warning of this.
Professional Standards
We will adhere to legal requirements and commonly accepted best practices. We will ensure to be up to date with all legal, professional, technical, environmental, and safety matters. We will always practice and teach respect and promote awareness for the natural environment.
Corporate Events
Should you looking for a special day out for your staff- we would be happy to discuss your requirements. We can offer corporate events catered to your requirements and offer a special and unique day out of the office. Please note in many cases we are booked 6-12 months in advance.
You can book me for a private event or for your festival or conference: fees depend upon many diverse factors and the exact offering.
The event I am interested in is fully booked, do you have a waiting list?
Yes, the waiting list can be accessed via the booking link (on the Clearbookings website where the tickets are sold) when the event shows as fully booked. What clothing or other items do I need to bring? (for outdoor events)
Appropriate clothing for the weather- a waterproof jacket and waterproof pants could be helpful, along with sturdy outdoor shoes. Please see the considerations above and bring anything you may require for your health conditions or personal comfort such as snacks and water.
Optional extras are: a foraging basket, a mat to sit on the ground, a knife, a camera or notebook, hand sanitiser, etc.
If I am unable to attend can I use my spot as credit for another event?
No, we do not allow credit or transfers to another event.
Can I bring my dog/pet with me?
Unfortunately, we are really sorry but no pets are allowed. Sorry about this! Even if your dog is particularly lovely it can be unmanageable if there are various dogs there….
Can I bring a child or children with me?
We are really sorry but for the moment, most of our events are aimed at adults only. If your child is particularly interested in fungi or the natural world, do contact me please! But each ticket price is the same as I am limited by numbers; I recommend you book early to avail of early bird pricing:)
I can recommend others that specialise in events for children if you’d like!
*If you’re breastfeeding and have a babe in arms, you may of course join us if you’d like!
